Our Programs
Stable Able Housing is on the front line fighting homelessness in the Auroraland area. We provide shelter, housing, street outreach, and supportive services to people experiencing homelessness, with a special focus on veterans in partnership with the City of Aurora and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Aurora is home to over 27,000 veterans including some of the most vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness in Kane County and we are passionate about serving our Veterans and helping them thrive. Secure Housing
At Stable Able Housing, we believe every veteran deserves a secure and comfortable place to call home. Our Secure Housing services are designed to meet veterans where they are, providing tailored solutions to address immediate and long-term housing needs. Through temporary housing, we offer safe, short-term shelter to veterans in crisis. Our transitional housing program supports veterans as they work toward stability, offering resources and guidance to help them move forward. For those ready to settle into a permanent home, our permanent housing options provide affordable, long-term solutions that ensure lasting security. Additionally, we offer rental assistance to help veterans maintain their housing during challenging times.

Community Outreach
At Stable Able Housing, we recognize that all veterans deserve access to the basic necessities that serve as a foundation for growth and stability. Through our Community Outreach services, we bring essential support directly to those in need. With our mobile outreach program, we hit the streets to provide food, clothing, blankets, and hygiene kits to our most vulnerable veterans.
These life-sustaining resources not only meet immediate needs but also serve as a bridge to connect veterans with the additional services and support they deserve. By reaching out to veterans where they are, we reaffirm their dignity and let them know they are not alone. Together, we’re building stronger connections and empowering our heroes to take the next step toward a brighter future.
Support Services
At Stable Able Housing, we’re committed to creating lasting change by helping veterans move from surviving to thriving. Our Support Services go beyond quick fixes, focusing on long-term solutions that empower veterans to rebuild their lives. We begin with comprehensive needs assessments to identify each veteran’s basic and unique needs. From there, we provide referral services to connect veterans with additional agencies and resources tailored to their goals.
To foster stability and growth, we offer access to veteran social groups, helping build a sense of community and belonging. Our employment services assist veterans with job training, resume support, and placement opportunities, while financial literacy programs empower them to take control of their financial future. Additionally, we connect veterans to healthcare agencies, ensuring they receive the care they need to thrive physically and mentally.
